On this page I will outline some of the repairs and maintenance I have performed over time. This is probably as much for my own reference as anyone else:
Sidestand switch repair:
After cutting out on me a few times, I discovered that the sidestand switch was the culprit. When I removed it, I found that water had gotten inside, the main spring was corroded and broken, and the switch was filled with moisture. I cleaned it up, dried it out, replaced the spring, sanded the contacts a little and hit them with some contact cleaner. Then reassembled the switch using dielectric grease on all the moving parts inside. Works like a charm again!
