Rene Michaud, along with his wife Rita, visited L’Ecole Francaise du Maine to talk with the 5th and 6th graders as they study World War II. The students had the opportunity to ask questions (in French, of course) of a person who was there and helped to liberate the French people. To honor him and other veterans who have ties to the school, the children recited dedications and ended the afternoon by planting a Liberty Tree in their honor. It was a great opportunity for exchange between the students and my Grandparents, capped by a very moving ceremony. Here is a slide show of the pictures taken. Video to follow...
